Position Description
Performs administrative and supervisory work related to the management of a specialized unit; usually reports to a Director. Responsibilities encompass the coordination of activities involved in the management of the unit or support services. Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based on attainment of established goals; may be responsible for supervision of all employees assigned to the unit of responsibility.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Develop, review, and revise policies.
  • Advise on compliance with laws and regulations through detailed review, research, and reports.
  • Create and manage effective corrective action plans in response to audit discoveries and/or compliance violations.
  • Regularly audit procedures, practices, and documents possible areas of risk or weakness.
  • Assess operations to determine compliance risk.
  • Create risk management strategies.
  • Provide education on latest regulations and processes.
  • Resolve employee concerns about legal and institutional compliance.
  • Act as channel of communication between Managed Care, TTUHSC (e.g., General Counsel), and concerned parties (e.g., affected patient).
  • Coordinate compliance activities (e.g., Paperless Initiative).
  • Serve in lieu or in the absence of Managing Director.

  • Ethical and principled.
  • Knowledge of legal requirements and procedure.
  • Ability to interpret voluminous information in concise manner.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Highly analytical, with definite attention to detail. 
  • Deliberate decision-making ability.
  • Fair and diligent, with a strong constitution and conviction.

  • Doctorate of Jurisprudence preferred

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related area required plus four years progressively responsible supervisory experience. Additional education may substitute for experience on a year for year basis.
