Position Description

Coordinates the various functions and aspects of telemedicine projects as well as the monitoring of projects to ensure compliance with established policies procedures and fiscal restraints. Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based on results obtained.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Serves as Telemedicine Project Coordinator for selected telemedicine program(s), handling project tasks and preparing work products to assist with carrying out project activities.

  • Responds to requests for technical assistance.

  • Represents the TexLa Telehealth Resource Center in meetings with TTUHSC leadership, third parties, and the National Consortium of Telehealth Resource Centers.

  • Monitors healthcare legislation and identifies implications for the utilization of telehealth in Texas and Louisiana.

  • Identifies performance improvement opportunities for telehealth programs and other health information technologies across Texas and Louisiana.

  • Conducts research on telehealth and telemedicine best practices, policy, compliance, reimbursement, and industry trends.

  • Provides outreach to healthcare organizations regarding telehealth and telemedicine.

  •  Established and nourishes working relationships with telehealth industry groups, state offices and agencies, federal agencies, hospital organizations, clinics, and other related organizations. 

  • Liaisons with vendors and other organization regarding telemedicine and telehealth efforts, policy, implementations, and best practices.

  • Proactively works to inform the InHT division regarding changes to policy, health industry strategy, telehealth technology, and best practices.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Two (2) years of telehealth experience.
Functional knowledge of telehealth and telemedicine.
Experience with telehealth and telemedicine.
Familiarity with best practices, project management, and process improvement.
Previous experience with various types of health facilities preferred.
Practice management or medical office experience.
Demonstrated track record managing projects and programs.
Ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
Ability to respond to requests for technical assistance.
Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with staff and strategic partners.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ensures support and input from the appropriate stakeholders.
