Position Description
Reporting to the Chief of Police, the System Clery Compliance Director serves as the designated Campus Safety Survey Administrator as defined by the Department of Education and is responsible for working collaboratively with various offices throughout the Texas Tech University System to ensure each institution's compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act) and associated regulations and policies.

Major/Essential Functions
*     Establishes and manages the Clery Act compliance program for the Texas Tech University System component institutions.
*     Is responsible for identifying and training  key institutional stakeholders on Clery Act requirements.
*     Is responsible for ensuring all Campus Security Authorities are identified and trained.
*     Stays abreast of current and proposed laws and regulations affecting Clery Act provisions.
*     Interprets, develops, and implements required Clery Act policies, procedures, programs and activities.
*     Gathers crime statistics, Title IX case information, and student conduct disciplinary data from the appropriate offices.
*     Prepares, publishes, and distributes each component institution's annual security report and fire safety report to ensure compliance
     with the Clery Act and submits annual crime statistics to the Department of Education.
*     Coordinates with the appropriate offices to ensure compliance with the daily crime and fire log requirements, timely warnings and
      emergency notifications as required by the Clery Act.
*     Works with the appropriate University departments to confirm compliance with the required provisions of the Higher Education
      Opportunity Act and Clery Act as it relates to annual tests of emergency notification systems.
*     Reviews and updates Clery geography maps as necessary.
*     Researches, aggregates data, and analyzes information including, crime statistics, incident data and trends.

$80,000 - $95,000

Pay Basis

Schedule Details
Ovetime as required to complete the essential functions of the position.

Work Location

Preferred Qualifications
*     Master’s degree or JD
*     Clery Compliance Officer Certification or advanced training in Clery Act compliance
*     Knowledge of UCR and NIBRS crime reporting classifications for statistical reporting
*     Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both orally and in writing, to all levels of the university
*     Ability to work with a sense of urgency and bias towards action in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
*     Problem-solving and decision-making skills
*     Organize simultaneous projects and effectively meeting deadlines
*     Experience in higher education

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent training in a criminal justice or law enforcement related field.

Significant working knowledge of the laws and regulations associated with the Clery Act, Department of Education mandates, and related federal, state and local laws and regulations including FERPA, Title IX, and VAWA.
