Circulation - Desk Coverage
Check in/out books and audio visuals
Maneuver book cart through stacks of shelves to gather, internally circulate, & re-shelve books, AV’s, journals (heavy volumes) located on shelves ranging from 7 feet high to 1 foot on the 1st and 2nd floor (elevator accessibility)
Visually inspect assigned shelves of books for misplaced items
Computer literacy. Word-processing.
Typing, filing, answering phones and taking messages receiving/sending telefacsimiles.
Take in monies for services rendered and give receipt.
Maintaining copiers by stocking with paper, adding toner and clearing paper jams
Locate and remove items from shelves, photocopy (pressing down on book spine if needed), and send ILL requests
Responsible for opening/closing routine without full-time staff supervision including logging on/off computers. Turn off lights, and copiers. Stock printers and copiers with paper. Forward/unforward telephones, check voice mail for messages, open/close blinds, & other routine work
Process new books and journals: stamping, affixing number, heating call number, heating label (by pressing down) gluing book plate and tattle taping
Greet and assist patrons in locating information in the Library
Instruct patrons on how to use the Library and the computer, AV equipment, copier, and locate items on the shelves.
Inspect work areas on weekly basis to ensure adequate supply of working equipment, restocking as necessary.
Assist with general library maintenance including straightening tables & newspapers shifting gaps between books on book shelves
Shelf-reading at least 30 minutes a week
Assist in packing a hundred or more volumes of journals into boxes to be sent to the bindery and unpacking when they are returned to the Library
Other duties as assigned.
A student enrolled in at least 6 hours
Able to work nights, weekends, during holidays/breaks and summer.

Able work during folowwing hours: Mon-Fri 8am-8pm; Sat 10am-2pm; Sun 1-5pm
