Position Description
Performs semi-professional work on various projects and programs. Work is performed under supervision within established policies with latitude for independent judgment. Employee performance is based upon a review of completed work and overall results obtained. May supervise specialized clerical section.

Major/Essential Functions
Knowledge of general office procedures; typing, copying, scanning and filing. Experience with Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel. Effective communication skills. Able to take direction and have initiative. Ability to multi-task administrative duties while receiving requests for for police services (both emergency and non-emergency) and initiating the appropriate action by police personnel.  Maintain police case files for Clery Act reporting.  Process new or replacement ID badges for faculty, staff, residents and students. Process, activate and troubleshoot access cards for faculty, staff, residents and students.

Work Location

Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of federal laws, state laws especially the Texas Open Records Act.  Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Knowledge of legal terminology for law enforcement, judicial work and the various clerical procedures required under specific regulations. Knowledge of the confidentiality requirement of criminal and justice information and criminal history record information.

Occasional Duties
Schedule and assist new employees in completing the new employee packets and ensures all forms are required for new employees are submitted.  Process and maintain confidential records, files, personnel folders and ledger sheets.  Purchase of departmental supplies and equipment; and maintain files on all orders and expenditures.  Assist in the hiring process paperwork as directed.  Assist in preparing and sending offense and incident reports and mantain accurate files on all pending investigations.

Required Qualifications
High school plus 4 years experience. Additional education may substitute on a year for year basis.
