Position Description
Manages and directs the day to day operations of a research center/institute or medium sized department. Plans, coordinates and supervises the operation and activities of the center/institute/department. Develops and implements policies and procedures, administers the budget, organizes tasks and sets priorities.

Major/Essential Functions
This leadership position is within the TTUHSC SON Combest.   The employee in this role manages and directs the day to day operations of the Performance Improvement initiatives of the Combest. Plans, coordinates and supervises the operation and activities related to the process for improvement of clinical services and outcomes. Develops and implements policies and procedures regarding quality and outcome measures, organizes tasks and sets priorities, programs and systems that supports effective
quality care for all patients.
  • Support the TTUHSC Values-Based Culture
  • Understand data collection processes, analyze data, generate reports, and effectively communicate outcomes verbally and in written format. 
  • Ability to oversee daily operations of the performance improvement component of the division for clinical services and outcomes. 
  • Assist with grant reporting requirements.
  • Actively participate and contribute to the divisions leadership team.
  • Develop polices related to performance improvement and quality assurance.
  • Provide education and training related to performance improvement and quality assurance.
  • Will lead quality initiative of the division through active collaboration of other division leadership team members. 
  • Will develop strategic plan for performance improvement and quality assurance initiatives setting benchmarks and providing outcomes and action plans.
  • Develops, implements, and oversees the performance improvement plan and all activities including peer review in coordination with other clinic administrators.

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Master's in Public Health preferred or experience in public health/epidemiology. Minimum of 2 years experience in
ambulatory care setting or healthcare quality improvement. Quality certification preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge in quality assurance/performance improvement. Must be able to provide data analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with a high level of tact and diplomacy regarding sensitive issues, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple simultaneous responsibilities. 
  • Ability to travel to all locations on a routine basis.
  • Ability and willingness to work in a professional manner with patients and staff.
  • Ability to lead teams in a competent, collaborative manner that results in improved outcomes. Strong written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong understanding of applicable computer programs and networks.

Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as, the institutional pay plan. For additional information, please reference the institutional pay plan on the Human Resources webpage.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required, master's preferred; Six years progressively responsible management experience. Additional education beyond Bachelor's may substitute for experience on a year for year basis.
