Major/Essential Functions
  • Plans, organizes, coordinates, directs, and participates in scientific research projects.
  • Determines specific goals or objectives to be attained, evaluates resulting research data, and revises techniques or approaches to experimental problems. Supervises the design, development, or adapting of equipment used in experiments or research to obtain desired results. Apply bio-statistical methods in analyzing clinical data such as pretreatment characteristics, response to treatment, toxicities, and mortality, etc.
  • Responsible for obtaining/maintaining IACUC and IRB protocol approvals for research studies.
  • Organizes in vivo studies with laboratory personnel and superiors. Duties consist of developing and carrying out animal experiments including developing breast cancer tumor models, assisting with cryoablation/surgical techniques, immunological studies and general animal husbandry.
  • Helps coordinate, evaluate and monitor clinical trials and research protocols. Consultation on appropriate analytical techniques for clinical research analysis.
  • After appropriate transition period, expected to develop an independent program of research with external funding in the general area of cancer immunobiology.
