Performs routine pre-award and/or post-award sponsored programs activities associated with management and oversight of the life cycle of awards.

Major/Essential Functions
*     Assists faculty in preparing grant proposals; determines funding agency regulations and requirements;  identifies errors and    omissions and works with faculty to resolve in a timely manner.
*     Assists faculty in preparing grant budgets for projects and ensures compliance with TTUHSC policies and funding agency requirements.
*     Maintain record of all proposals and their outcomes.
*     Complete New Fund requests for projects once awarded.
*     Complete Budget Revisions as needed for grant funds in the portfolio.
*     Maintains professional knowledge by attending educational workshops such as the National Council of University Research Administrations (NCURA) as funds allow; reviews professional publications, established personal networks; participates in professional.
*     Works directly with individual department accountants for institutionally approved cost share account set up and transfers.
*     Use applicable TTUHSC information systems (e.g. Cognos) to access data relevant to grant applications and accounts.
*     Maintain confidential and routine records for the Associate Dean of Research and Scholarship.
*     Arrange meetings and maintain calendar for the Associate Dean for Research and Scholarship.  Prepare itineraries as needed.
*     Make travel reservations for accommodations and airlines as requested; process travel for the Associate Dean for Research and Scholarship.
*     Attend necessary meetings and/or serve on committees including but not limited to Staff Council, Coordinating Council, and other various task forces.
*     Receive and priorities mail for the Associate Dean of Research and Scholarship.
*     Plans events and prepares marketing materials for various research related activities for the Associate Dean for Research and Scholarship.  This included seminars, workshops, etc.
*     Collect and analyze data related to the Associate Dean for Research and Scholarship.
*     Maintain and submit accurate Purchasing Card records.
*     Order, process, and maintain records for Swift Cards.
*     Supports the ServicePlus philosophy of TTUHSC, including attending regularly scheduled training programs.
*     Adheres to institutional and departmental safety standards.
*     Creates and maintains template language for shared institutional resources.
*     Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Coursework or experience related to grants and contract administration.  Experience in a medical institution preferred.

Individual must be highly detail oriented and demonstrate flexibility.  The position also requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage diverse and complex responsibilities in time critical situations.
