The Department of Family and Community Medicine is committed to providing high quality medical care for individuals of all ages. We are dedicated to providing an excellent training environment for Family Medicine Physicians of today and the future. Our department is a values-based, improvement-focused, and team-oriented environment where the patient always comes first.

The Program Coordinator contribute to our mission by:

  • Creating and maintaining provider, preceptor and resident clinic schedules for a total of 68 provider staff including faculty physicians, fellows, residents, advanced practice providers, clinical psychologists and dietitian.
  • Creating and maintaining faculty and resident on-call schedules.
  • Building, maintaining and revising patient scheduling templates. 
  • Holding our team accountable to date-sensitive targets to maximize access for patients.
  • Communicating effectively with clinic staff and providers about schedule changes to ensure minimal patient impact.
  • Preparing and delivering standing and ad hoc reports to track critical information.
  • Participating in and contributing positively to Administrative Team activities such as huddles and team meetings..

A successful Program Coordinator will demonstrate competency in big picture thinking, detail-focus, reliability, effective communication and problem solving/decision making.                                                                                                                                                                
The position is temporary for up to four and one-half months and will perform work for up to 16 hours per week.

Required Qualifications
Degree/Experience: High school plus six years experience in related field. Additional education may substitute for experience on a year for year basis.

Additional Experience: Experience with provider scheduling in an academic healthcare setting and provider scheduling software, like AMION.
