Position Description
Employees in this classification provide patient care management to an assigned clinic in the areas of clerical and clinical duties. In clinical setting, the employee receives direct supervision from physician or nursing supervisor in either oral or written form. In office setting, the employee receives direct supervision from department administrator. Work is performed under usual office and clinic conditions. May be stressful when working under emergency conditions.

Major/Essential Functions
Provides basic clinical duties within Pediatrics general and or specialty clinics. Assists providers in preparing patients for appointments and follow-ups with associated medical tasks. Check in patients by checking height, weight, pulse, respirations, blood pressure, head circumference, and temperature and to administer vaccines. Performs other tasks as assigned to complete the medical record and additional tests, examinations, etc.
Ability to document visits as per physicians’ assessments and recommendations. This including well child checks, acute visits, newborn visits, and other physician visits.

Follow set clinical protocols as assigned.

Required Qualifications
Education:  
  •  A minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent. 

License/Certification: 
  • Graduation from an approved certified program for assistants in the area of required specialty.
  • Certification by an approved accredited certifying agency in the specialty that particular work will be performed.
