Position Description
The multimedia journalist produces, reports, shoots, writes, voices, edits and/or feeds news production content for all platforms in a manner that is clear, engaging, and meaningful to news consumers. The position promotes a favorable and consistent image of the department and the university for internal and external audiences, and champions the accomplishments of students, faculty, and/or staff.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Manage the social media presence for the School of Medicine, School of Nursing, their departments and partners.
  • Build and execute social media strategy through competitive research, platform determination, bench-marking, messaging and audience identification.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff and stakeholders to produce accurate, engaging content. 
  • Conduct/attend meetings to gain an understanding of social media needs.
  • Generate, edit, publish and share daily content (original text, images, videos) that builds meaningful connections and encourages community members to take action.
  • Manage the social media advertising budget provided by the schools.
  • Understand and perpetuate the digital strategic guidelines set by the university.
  • Monitor the social web for relevant mentions and happenings about multiple schools.
  • Continuously improve by capturing and analyzing the appropriate social data/metrics, insights and best practices, and then acting on the information.
  • Work closely with Communications and Marketing directors on strategic efforts for each school.
  • Assist with dailydose, ttuhsc.edu blog, and content calendar, including entering content.
  • Assist with management of the university events and announcements systems.
  • Assist with SEO efforts on ttuhsc.edu
