Position Description
Develops engaging, brand-oriented written content for print and digital media for a variety of internal and external audiences. This title is restricted for use in the Office of Communications and Marketing.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Create new content about a wide array of topics as well as update existing digital content.
  • Work with the digital team to create a content calendar that provides visibility on recurring items, as well as new initiatives, to all team members on upcoming content and associated timing. Calendaring must support visibility and usage beyond the individual role.
  • Write content that supports creative selection and development of assets (photos/videos) for blogs or other content initiatives identified to improve website performance and metrics.
  • Occasionally interviews clients to glean necessary information to write content.
  • Leverages SEO best practices and keyword density standards to write copy.
  • Verifies that content is approved through proper channels and systems prior to posting.
  • Publish blog articles and website content through our CRM.
  • Assist with QA/editing tasks as needed.
  • Assist with managing the university events and announcements systems.
  • Attend events locally and on other campuses.
  • Capture photos/videos as needed.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and minimum 1-year of experience in writing. 
  • Ability to analyze and use market research to inform copy and content that is created for online environments including websites, microsites, blogs, and social media channels.
