Position Description
Manages a unit within a department. Plans, organizes and develops goals and procedures for the unit. Represents the unit to administrators, outside agencies and others on relevant matters. Supervises subordinate staff.

Major/Essential Functions
Member Management and Outreach - 50%
  • Ensure member data, documents, and records are accurate, updated, and accessible by LEARN staff and Members
  • In coordination with the Director, develop and implement strategies for retention of existing members and recruitment and cultivation of new members, including the creation of new member benefits and regular solicitation of member feedback
  • Find solutions to improve member collaboration, satisfaction and experience with LEARN’s services and organization as a whole.
  • Identify, gather, and read through & analyze Member’s strategic plans and initiatives. Determine and share how LEARN can support organizational needs and objectives
  • Develop and implement new membership engagement programs
  • Develop creative and engaging membership marketing materials
  • Create and manage LEARN’s evaluation program with a focus on service evaluations
  • Represent LEARN in the community, including speaking publicly when needed (travel to member sites as a public relations function)
  • Attend national/regional/local meetings on behalf of the organization; gather national data on services, applications, and other business development opportunities from LEARN’s peers across the country.
  • Travel as necessary to member institutions and their communities
    • Work with the Director to ensure customer contacts and visits occur on schedule
    • Complete minimum of 20 site visits/year to various Member campuses
Operations & Administration - 25%
  • Website - 10%
    • In coordination with the Administration Membership and Outreach Team, serve as the lead in overseeing the functionality of the website to creatively upgrade the existing website to make it current, useful, and attractive for our members and external visitors
    • With oversight of the Director, update content, design, and execute changes
    • Ensure documentation/training materials related to the website are updated
  • Annual Report - 10%
    • With oversight of the Director, lead in the preparation, creation, and distribution of LEARN’s Annual Report
    • Solely responsible for gathering, verifying, and providing all non-financial data (list of members, affiliate Members, breakdown data for charts/graphs)
    • Responsible for proofing and editing the report in various stages of development
    • In collaboration with the Director and Executive Management Team, come up with stories, including contacts and data points for the writer(s)
  • Communications - 5%
    • Develop strategy, manage, and grow LEARN’s social media engagement
    • Respond to consumer email inquiries and facilitate information sharing
Board & Event Management - 25%
  • Solely responsible for coordination and preparation of the Governance & Participation Committee Meetings - 10%
    • Set the schedule of meetings for the year, send meeting invites, prepare agendas, and gather documents
    • Ensure that all documents are sent out in a timely manner
    • Gather and proofread minutes from the meeting
  • Solely responsible for coordination and preparation of the Board of Directors Meetings - 10%
    • Set the schedule of meetings for the year, send meeting invites, prepare agendas, and gather documents
    • Ensure that all documents are sent out in a timely manner
    • Gather and proofread minutes from the meeting; ensures that minutes are recorded accurately for meetings, including all resolutions, decisions, and that actions are communicated to the relevant groups and organized properly for future reference.
    • Take the lead on developing content for LEARN Board of Directors annual meeting workshop; take the lead on finding speakers and topics for LEARN Board of Directors annual meeting
  • Event Management - 5%
    • Manage and serve as point of contact for any outside contractor(s) brought on to assist with meetings. Oversee event and meeting logistics, using outside contracts, caterers, agencies, or volunteers as needed. Manages the budget and expenses for member meetings and events.

Preferred Qualifications
  • mSBachelor’s Degree in communications, marketing, business, technology or related program.
  • Five plus years’ experience in communications, non-profit, marketing, technology, research and/or education.
Required Skills:
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple, diverse projects simultaneously
  • Track record of creating and growing programs
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-focused environment
  • Experience in website content management systems; Adobe Photoshop. and social media platforms (i.e. Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.)
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, flexible and collaborative
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, and positive attitude with focus on customer service
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and MS Teams.  Familiarity with business process flow tools, such as, SharePoint.
  • Must be able to work virtually from home office
