Position Description
The IT Support Technician I’s scope includes providing technical support and assistance to departments, faculty, staff, and students with the use of basic hardware and some software support and maintenance.

Major/Essential Functions
  1. Post all educational material on ENT website, ensures accuracy of material.  Refreshes web site content to ensure accuracy and timeliness of the images.  Maintains functional links and designs user oriented pages.  Consults with faculty and school administration to plan web site development.
  2. Train and educate departmental personnel in the use of computer systems and software programs.
  3. Stays abreast of industry trends and all applicable technologies including security issues, graphic design tools and new languages.
  4. Answers and forwards to management any website related questions and e-nails.  Analyzes traffic to website and recommends any necessary programming changes.  Provides technical support and participates in employee website training.
  5. Maintains computers and departmental file share for the surgery department.
  6. Provides support fo departmental personnel in compute hardware, software, EMR, and networking.  Upgrades and maintains files for departmental shares.
  7. Actively participate in the daily support of all needs that arise from department personnel.
  8. Troubleshoot and facilitate EMR within the Department.
  9. Analyze needs and requirements of departmental software as well as computers.
  10. Participate in EMR, hardware and other software upgrades within our department.
  11. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT:  Serves as a Mentor and promotes, assess, and evaluates the educational needs and requirements specific to job disciplines of your staff and self within your departmental assignment. 
  12. Performs other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in eb stie development, programming and administration.  Knowledge of computers and being able to assess problems and fix.  Must be proficient with compute use and have an above average level of working knowledge of hardware and software.  Must have understanding of network environments and how they function.  Website administrator and computer technology training.  Good listening and communication skills.  Ability to learn new concepts quickly.  Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize resources.  Strong technical background in computer systems.
