Major/Essential Functions
The Clerkship Coordinator will support the 3rd and 4th year clerkship directors in performing any and all administrative duties related to planning, directing, and coordinating the academic and operational activities in the medical student clerkship(s) and under the supervision of the Department 3rd and 4th year Clerkship Directors and Director of GME and UME within the department.  
  • Adheres to the department and institutional policies concerning leave time and safety policies and procedures.
    Also supports the Internal Medicine departmental mission and vision statements and operates under the TTUHSC Values Based Culture.
  • Evaluations - enter rotation schedules for students and faculty in order for evaluations to match in online evaluation software (MedHub).
  • Prepare all material, conference room reservations and agendas for Medical Student Orientation as assigned by Clerkship Directors. Prepare conference schedule, room reservations and agendas.
  • Schedule and attend Medical Student OSCE as well as maintain master departmental rotation schedule for students and send students needed information for departmental rotation.This should include any updates or changes in the schedule. This will include any updates or changes in the schedules.
  • History and Physical (including observed), quizzes, and log book paperwork to be collected from medical students to submit to Clerkship Director.
  • Compile and distribute Clerkship Rotation Lecture Schedule in Week 7 for upcoming clerkship and remind all residents. fellows, and faculty of assigned lecture one week in advance. This includes the organization of the schedule and of meeting room space. This should also include collecting lecture evaluation forms to be submitted  to Clerkship Director.
  • Maintain assigned faculty calendars, schedule/cancel meetings, updating conference and meeting changes. 
  • Maintain a current CV Departmental share drive and sharepoint on all faculty assigned by supervisor. Submit faculty CV updates to digital measures personnel. Process faculty license renewal and reimbursements as needed in accordance with institutional procurement processes/standards.
  • Complete final grade forms on each student and send to the Department of Student Affairs.
  • Coordinates medical student orientation to included communication with students.
  • Professional Development: Promote, assess, and evaluate the educational needs and requirements specific to medical student education within the clerkship.

Preferred Qualifications
Must be able to work with limited supervision to accomplish goals and objectives of the SOM and Department related to Medical Student education and the coordination of clerksips.  Problem solving, decision making, and being a team player are essential skills to be successful in this position.
