Major/Essential Functions
Duties:
  • Provide medical nutrition therapy (MNT) to patients in the Family Medicine and Student Health clinics.  Experience with diabetes, obesity, HTN, HLD, eating disorders, and associated conditions desirable.  Knowledge of life cycle nutrition e.g. infant nutrition through geriatrics. Ability to work independently.
  • Will be responsible to the Chair of the Department of Family and Community Medicine
  • Provide education as determined by Family Medicine Residency Director, PreDoc Director, and Clinic Administration: 
    • Provide monthly lecture to family medicine residents, students, faculty and staff.
    • Educate 3rd year medical students rotating through the family medicine clerkship.

Preferred Qualifications
Required:
  • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) - Certified by the Commission on Dietetics Registration (CDR) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
  • Licensed by the State of Texas (LD)
  • Master of Science (MS) degree in Nutrition or related field
