Position Description
A Clinic Office Manager is responsible for all day-to-day clinical operations for a group of health care professionals. Plans and oversees all fiscal/administrative support, human resources management, and office services for a clinical practice. Performs tasks which require advanced skills in organization, planning, interpersonal relations, in-depth knowledge of clinic operations and overall understanding of other departments. This position interacts and works closely with the departmental chairs. Directly supervises 8-15 employees in the assigned clinical department. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Direct and coordinate patient navigation in the Family Medicine Clinic.
  • Incorporate implementation of systems improvement in efficiency, communication and billing.
  • Evaluate and analyze patients care navigation processes in coordination with medical director, department leadership, clinical staff and providers.
  • Develop and maintain clinical processes and guidelines for nursing staff, front desk staff, and physicians in coordination with department administration and medical director.
  • Assist the care team by helping to measure quality and identify, refine, and implement performance improvements.
  • Participate in organized functions of the practice and perform administrative functions as necessary.
  • Continually monitor the cost effectiveness of services provided through the patient’s individualized care plans, and recommend any needed changes to those plans based on evidence-based, clinical guidelines from sources identified by the Practice.

Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as, the institutional pay plan. For additional information, please reference the institutional pay plan on the Human Resources webpage.

Required Qualifications
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a business related area plus 4 years of directly related experience; OR directly related experience equal to 8 years.
