Position Description
The Enterprise Network Engineer II's scope of responsibility includes providing primary support for the operation of enterprise-level technology used by enterprise-wide mission-critical systems and infrastructure. This position may also assist with training team members and manage technical projects. Discretion and sound judgment is expected. Enterprise positions are restricted for use in central IT Division areas reporting to the institutional CIO and, as such, may interface with key IT leadership and/or other functional leadership from the Texas Tech University System institutions.

Major/Essential Functions
Use of personal computer-PC skills.
Interpersonal skills- will deal with executives, faculty, students, and staff in variety of settings.
Organizational skills- ability keep track of various activities, documents, projects in an orderly fashion.
Communications- will provide written and verbal notices to supervisor, and colleagues on various technical subjects related to daily project schedule.
Will specify, qualify, recommend, and test various types of AV electronic related equipment for video conferencing using both hardware VC systems and soft codecs especially used in classroom environment.
Will work as a member of a technical team and successfully troubleshoot various problems.

Preferred Qualifications
Skilled in the use of network, and telecommunications test equipment. Ability to detect and diagnose network system and network component malfunctions and failures, and make complex repairs. Ability to detect and diagnose telecommunication systems and component malfunctions and failures, and interface with service providers to insure timely restoration of service. Ability to successfully direct and complete telecommunications, and network equipment installations in a variety of facilities and locations. Experience with H.323 video conferencing and hardware based
codecs. Experience with in-room collaborative technologies and software based video conferencing. Experience with IP based video solutions and general audio / video knowledge.
work well with individuals at all levels.  Experience with Windows, MacOS, iOS, and Android devices. Crestron Certified programmer or experience with Crestron controls.
