Major/Essential Functions
This position is responsible for leading technical aspects of performance of building systems maintenance, operations and other related functions.  In addition, this position has the prime responsibility of maintaining and updating the maintenance department’s program including - equipment, location of departmental equipment technology (e.g. software), and managing of all maintenance department inventories.  This position will provide other technical support for various campus initiatives including project construction management.  This position will lead the entire trade-related Facilities Operations and Maintenance staff in the area of technical advancement such as normal, preventative and predictive maintenance programs and associated training.  The position will work with Sr. Director and Foreman to adequately cover contingencies coordination, etc. for project related and task related duties concerning renovations and construction to the facilities.

Preferred Qualifications
Provides professional, highly technical expertise in the application of engineering practices, principles, techniques and methods.  Ability to learn and fully utilize specialized software and technologies, E.G. CMMS (TMA).  Ability to read, interpret plans, specifications, schematic drawings and maintenance manuals (e.g. OEM).. Ability to plan and manage in-house construction and maintenance work, including the coordination of various trades. Ability to implement learning programs and teach principal practices of maintenance technology for development of Facilities Operations and Maintenance staff. Solid knowledge of computerized building automation system principals and practices. Ability to communicate with all trades, outside vendors / contractors and administrative personnel.  Bachelor’s degree from ABET Accredidated institution in Engineering required (e.g. Mechanical, Industrial, etc.); three years professional work experience related to the specific assigned area.  Prefer additional training, certification or experience with programs and responsibilities of similar scope and complexity.  Certifications may include registration as Professional Engineer, refrigerant recovery certification or building system automation certification.
