Position Description
Directs, plans, coordinates and supervises the operation and activities of a specialized unit or small department; develops and implements policies and procedures, administers the budget, organizes tasks and sets priorities. Serves as liaison with university personnel and community at large. Works under general supervision with broad latitude for initiative and independent judgment.

Major/Essential Functions
Process incoming ADA students' requests for accommodations and process renewal requests for established ADA students.  Work directly with the schools to ensure accommodations are reasonable and that the institution maintains its compliance with the federal regulations protecting the rights of students with disabilities.  Implement institutional standards with supporting departments regarding ADA compliance.  Educate faculty and staff on all campus locations to promote education and awareness of ADA regulation, processes, and procedures.  Address student grievances relating to disability services and consult with faculty and staff on ADA related questions.  Coordinate and schedule coverage for Remote CART services, interpreters, and video relay for hearing impaired students as well as have oversight of ADA equipment.  Prepare and evaluate ADA reports for Schools and Administration to better assess students' needs.  Maintain strict confidentiality for students, faculty, and staff.  Research and propose new methodology to better improve services.

Preferred Qualifications
Terminal degree in special education or rehabilitation counseling with certification from the National Association of ADA Coordinators.  Five years of progressively responsible management experience.  Active participation in professional organizations including leadership roles at state and national levels.
