Position Description
Performs work to assist in the organization and implementation of projects and programs. Responsibilities include activities which require knowledge of departmental procedures. Employee performance is based upon a review of completed work and overall results obtained.

Major/Essential Functions
Media Relations:
  • Assist with media relations and create and curate engaging content.
  • Communicate and build relationships with faculty, staff, and students.
  • Create and distribute press releases.
  • Build and update media lists and databases.
  • Maintain files, and organize documents.
  • Assist with organizing, set up, and break down of events.
  • Have knowledge of Associated Press writing style.
  • Write news releases, media advisories, media briefs and other collateral material for reporters to raise the visibility of the university.
  • Compile media reports for TTUHSC and its agencies to keep an active record of mentions throughout television, radio, and online news sources.
  • Write and edit content for social media posts, website articles and institutional newsletters.
  • Ability to interview experts including researchers, faculty, students, and experts for news articles and coverage.
  • Maintain files, and organize documents.
  • Help distribute marketing promotional items.
  • Assist with scheduling faculty photos.
  • Create engaging text, image, and video content.
  • Research and gather documentation.
  • Type documents, drafts, and reports if needed.
  • Run general department related errands.
  • Help prepare photo shoots, set with lights, props, equipment etc...
  • Type documents, drafts and reports if needed.
  • Effectively utilize TTUHSC's social media and blogs.
  • Assist with responding to web correspondence, social media posts, and emails.
  • Researching audience preferences and discover current trends.
  • Create engaging text, image, and video content. 
  • Designing posts to sustain readers' curiosity and creating buzz.
  • Research and gather documentation.
  • Assist with organizing, set up, and break down of events.
  • Create and maintain PowerPoint presentations.
  • Help prepare photo shoots, set with lights, props, equipment etc...
