Position Description
Performs supervisory and coordinative work in the operation of a specific program or departmental project. Responsibilities involve the coordination and supervision of the various functions and aspects of a specific program as well as the monitoring of program staff and operational procedures. Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based on results obtained. May supervise program staff, volunteers and student assistants.

Major/Essential Functions
The selected candidate will assist with administrative duties for both the Executive Director and the Institute.  Duties supporting the Executive Director will include, but not limited to:  Preparation/submission of travel; scheduling/coordinating meetings, journal clubs and conferences; managing the calendar for the Executive Director; preparation/submission of documents to agencies both inside and outside agencies; maintaining the Executive Director’s required yearly reporting via programs such as Digital Measures; excellent telephone, communication and writing skills are preferred.
 
Duties supporting the Institute will include, but are not limited to: Ensuring the smooth & competent operations for all aspects of the Brain Bank such as coordinating donor registrations; data collection & management; educational presentations to internal & external agencies; tissue recovery; and processing tissue at autopsy sites/laboratories. This position requires "on call" duties as brain tissue donated to the Brain Bank must be processed within 10 hours of death. Employee may be called upon at any time during the week and/or on weekends to handle the donation of tissue to the Brain Bank.

Occasional Duties
As assigned by the Executive Director to accomplish the goals and mission of the Garrison Institute on Aging.  Some work may be required outside the normal Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM work schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Required Qualifications
