Position Description

Performs clinical applications support duties with the clinicians and staff providing patient care in the ambulatory clinic setting.

Major/Essential Functions
*   Analyzes, develops, and maintains the Electronic Health Record applications, procedures and other systems that satisfy the needs of the user departments.
*   Analyzes and develops necessary design work, including testing and documentation. Reviews, evaluates and implements requests from user departments.
*   Ability to assess and implement projects as assigned. Provide feedback on designs, proposals and plans for changes to the existing program. Train end-users on enhancements that come out of project requests.
*   Analyzes problems, determines cause and initiates corrective action.
*   Develops clear and concise documentation, educational materials.
*   Stays current with technology through seminars, educational opportunities, trade magazines, etc.
*   Has a working knowledge of the electronic health record, and hardware and application troubleshooting.
*   Maintains a high level of interaction with all clinical areas to continually enhance/improve patient care.
*   Coordinates and participates in both internal and external user group functions

*     Preferred Cerner Powerchart knowledge.
*     Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
*     Able to communicate effectively with all levels of TTUHSC management.
*     All other duties as assigned by the Clinical Transformation Department.

Pay Statement
Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as, the institutional pay plan. For additional information, please reference the institutional pay plan on the Human Resources webpage.

Required Qualifications

Undergraduate degree and 4 years of experience in medical/electronic medical records; or a combination of education and experience to equal 8 years.
