Major/Essential Functions
Ability to analyze the needs of Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) Electronic Health Record (EHR) end user’s needs and provide system support. Provide feedback on all system designs, proposals and plans for all changes to Powerchart. Support the vision and mission of TTUHSC. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written. Able to communicate effectively with all levels of management. Excellent organizational skills. Excellent leadership skills.

Works with maintaining a consistent and advancing environment for the Electronic Health Record (EHR). Acts as a liaison between the EHR vendor, the vendor's project team, TTUHSC's project team, and University Medical Center (UMC) Clinical IT. Responsible for reporting status reports as needed to necessary stakeholders (i.e. director, project team, Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO) etc.). To continue support throughout the build, implementation and post implementation support phase. Delivers regular reports that clearly communicate the results and/or progress of initiatives to the CMIO, Director of Clinic Transformation, Chairmen, and Administrators.

Responsible for interpretation of regulatory reporting requirements, supports initiatives designed to ensure eligibility for incentives, and meets critical deadlines as outlined by various government programs. Ensures there is a standardized and consistent approach to the interpretation, development, implementation, training, and measurement of these programs.  
 
Oversees the EHR Helpdesk/Training team and ensures efficiency is achieved and all incident reports (IR) are addressed in a timely manner. Meets with team on a regular basis to ensure assigned tasks/projects are completed and Helpdesk phones are covered. Assists with any unresolved issue that arise.
  • Serves as a project lead on assigned projects and chair applicable committees.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of EHR software, clinical operations, and workflow.
  • Manages assigned tasks.
  • Maintains, monitors and implements Medicare Merit-Based Incentive program (MIPS) and other physician practice regulatory initiatives as assigned.
  • Monitors reports for errors, inaccuracies, and inefficiencies and works with the Director of Clinic Transformation to develop improvement plans or seek resolution for errors.
  • Assists in defining key performance issues, outcomes, set priorities, determine methods of improvement, and implements monitoring and measurement.
  • Collaborates with other departments to develop, test, and maintain clinical workflows required to meet initiatives.
  • Documents and maintains all appropriate materials for auditing purposes.
  • Educates staff and organization leaders regarding reporting initiatives, government programs, performance outcomes, and reporting strategic plan.
  • Validation/Code Upgrades - Oversees the coordination of code upgrades. Works with UMC Clinical IT to ensure validation is complete and support is assigned. Coordinates with applicable departments to ensure communication of all upgrades are disseminated. Completes assigned tasks for validation and support.
  • Other duties as assigned.
