Position Description
Performs administrative duties in the management and coordination of a large specialized project and program. Under general supervision, performs varied and complex administrative duties requiring independent judgment and the application of established policies and procedures. May provide supervision and direction to clerical, para-professional or professional staff members.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Design and conduct experiments on sphingolipids.
  • Develop assays to measure drugs and other biological
    molecules in various specimens, and analyze samples from
    clinical trials and laboratory models using the assays
    developed.
  • Analyze samples obtained from clinical trials and laboratory
    experiments.
  • Teach and train graduate students for their analytical
    chemistry needs. The students are responsible for their own
    sample collection, and the assay will be taught by the current
    position to prepare the samples for the analyses.

Preferred Qualifications
PhD in mass spectormentry, chromatography or pharmacokinetics.
Experience in assay development and clinical trial data analyses.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in the area of specialization or closely related field. Four years of related administrative and technical experience. Additional job related education may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
