Position Description
Performs administrative duties in the management and coordination of a large specialized project and program. Under general supervision, performs varied and complex administrative duties requiring independent judgment and the application of established policies and procedures. May provide supervision and direction to clerical, para-professional or professional staff members.

Major/Essential Functions
-Assists clinical and basic science faculty/staff in researching grant opportunities and preparing grant proposals; determines funding agency regulations and requirements; identifies errors and omissions and works with faculty to resolve in a timely manner
-Assists in preparing and overseeing budgets related to applicable projects and ensure compliance with TTUHSC policies and funding agency requirements. Complete new fund requests and budget revisions as needed
-Analyze and maintain current grant records for the Department of Internal Medicine. Ensures grant spending adheres to agency guidelines. Works directly with Sponsored Programs and Accounting Services to ensure financial information reported to funding agencies is accurate and appropriate
-Acts as liaison to all basic science faculty and clinical faculty to provide support as needed for research/studies as needed
-Work to expand and grow the research division in the Department of Internal Medicine
-Participates on the Internal Medicine Leadership Team and works directly with leadership staff as needed
-Assists with HR duties, including processing new positions, posting and supporting the recruitment process for research faculty/staff, and completing ePAFs and EOPs as needed
-Act as the Effort Coordinator, to maintain records as appropriate
-Promote and support active clinical trials in the Department as needed for rules/regulations and financial reporting, processes clinical trial payments 
-Review and complete requisitions and purchase orders for the basic science division, research labs, and clinical trials
-Assists with scheduling events, meetings, and seminars
-Maintain and update research related website as needed

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in the area of specialization or closely related field. Four years of related administrative and technical experience. Additional job related education may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
