Major/Essential Functions
Contributes to the university’s mission through teaching, patient care, research and service. Teaching internal medicine/family medicine fellows, residents, PA's and medical students. Giving lectures and teaching sessions to fellows, residents and medical students. Medical practice of infectious diseases / general internal medicine. This position is responsible for inpatient consults care and outpatient medical care. This includes examination of patients, ordering x-rays and laboratory tests to help make an accurate diagnosis, and planning and execution of treatment. Adhere to institutional and departmental policies and procedure.

Preferred Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited school of medicine with an M.D. or D.O. degree. Must have a license to practice medicine in the State of Texas or eligible for Texas medical licensure. Must have or be eligible for certificate(s) for prescribing controlled substances. Must have three years post-graduate training in an ACGME approved primary care medicine training program and infectious diseases fellowship program.
