Major/Essential Functions
  • Provides medical education to medical students and residents
  • Participates in research and/or scholarly activities
  • Provides patient care in-patient and out-patient settings
  • Performs a wide variety of colorectal surgical procedures
  • Assumes on-call coverage duties as scheduled
  • Ensures compliance and HIPAA and billing regulations
  • Adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures
  • Demonstrates professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine's Statement of Faculty Professional Responsibility

Preferred Qualifications
  • Board certification in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery
  • Board certification by the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery
  • Strong work ethics and good team player
  • Experience in teaching students and residents
  • Experience in conducting research and publishing scientific reports

Required Qualifications
  • M.D/D.O., or equivalence
  • Successful completion of ACGME-accredited residency program in general surgery
  • Successful completion of ACGME-accredited fellowship program in colon and rectal surgery
  • Texas Medical License or eligible for licensure in the State of Texas
