Major/Essential Functions

Establish a practice of rheumatology examination of patients, ordering x-rays and laboratory tests to help make an accurate diagnosis, and planning and execution of treatment.  Teach medical students and residents in the outpatient setting.  Conduct mini-courses and/or lectures for medical students and residents.  Adhere to institutional and departmental policies and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications
Academic degree as defined by the academic unit and as appropriate for the position held. Completion of an accredited Rheumatology Fellowship Program.  Board Certified or Board Eligible in Rheumatology.  Demonstrated record of effectiveness as a teacher, a record of peer reviewed publication and/or peer-reviewed creative activity which has contributed to the discipline or field of study, to the candidate’s intellectual and artistic development, and to the quality of the academic enterprise; a record of professional service appropriate to the discipline; promise of growth in teaching and research or artistic and creative activity.

Pay Statement

Required Qualifications
  • Completion of an accredited M.D. or D.O. program or foreign medical equivalent
  • Completion of three (3) year internal medicine residency
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine, and must be licensed in the State of Texas or eligible to obtain a Texas State Medical License.
