Performs varied and complex administrative duties in the management and coordination of a large specialized project and/or program. Requires independent judgment and application of established policies and procedures. Works under general supervision with evaluation based on overall results obtained.
Experience with AP Style writing.
Serve as liaison for public relations needs and maintain a professional working relationship with all schools, faculty, staff, and community at large.
Oversee all releases, approves, edits and communicates to the System's office and Chancellor in the absence of the Director.
Oversee and execute all aspects of press conferences along with the Director.
Serve as an expert in regard to brand and style guidelines.
Verify content and accuracy of all formal information, approve all copy by expert source prior to publication or release to media.
Oversee media reports for TTUHSC and its agencies to keep an active record of mentions throughout television, radio, and online news sources.
Oversee students, interns, and/or assistants.
Manage the execution of the Tech Nursing Magazine, which includes coordinating, writing, editing articles and working with the School of Nursing faculty, staff and students to gather information as well as arranging photo shoots for the magazine.
Write advisories, releases, articles, Web stories or columns. Includes from concept to completion, follow AP Style writing and edits work for publication.
Compile write and edit information for the monthly electronic newsletter, includes being responsible for design layout and working with IT to send out.
Write and disseminate news releases, media advisories, media briefs, talking points, pitches and other collateral material for reporters to raise the visibility of the university.
Ability to translate academic and science news to a general audience.
Respond to media interview requests from all external media.
Maintain an excellent working relationship with local, state and national news media in print, radio, and TV.
Must be able to travel when needed to regional campuses.
Responsible for the oversight of media, publication articles, and public relations activities with TTUHSC or school administrators as needed to enhance public outreach efforts.
Ensure current information is maintained on news site, the Daily Dose.
Responsible for assisting in researching, writing and posting accurate updated stories weekly.
Responsible for working closely with TTUHSC deans, leaders and clinical administrators to enhance public outreach efforts.
Responsible for working after hour events for media coverage.
Serve as a liaison for schools to gather positive internal and external coverage.
Pitch stories to local, state and national media, arrange media interviews and monitor media trends.
Demonstrate knowledge of media and ability to work productively and positively with media.
Write and edit content for social media posts, website articles and institutional newsletters.
Work with TTUHSC students to promote TTUHSC events.
Ability to interview experts including researchers, faculty, students, and experts for news articles and coverage.
Help to create daily content in the form of writing, editing and distributing the university's news stories.
Other duties as assigned by Director.
Bachelor's degree in the area of specialization or closely related field. Three years of related administrative and technical experience. Additional job related education may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Work independently with little supervision.

Salary commensurate with related education, experience and/or skills
