Position Description
Performs routine administrative support or technical program assistance work. Works under moderate supervision with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Major/Essential Functions

Answers telephone for Office of Academic Affairs and greets visitors.  Provide administrative support such as general correspondence, scheduling of meetings, assisting with special events.  Order office supplies and maintain sufficient quantities for office needs.  Organize travel arrangements, applications and vouchers for all individuals supported by Office of Academic Affairs/Curriculum.  Coordinate purchasing for department including purchase orders for direct buy and any additional orders of purchasing cards not covered under office supplies. Attend committee meetings and process minutes of committee meetings. Perform additional duties as required.

Preferred Qualifications
Language Skills - Ability to read analyze and interpret general education and medical education periodicals, professional journals, or governmental and accrediting body regulations.  Ability to write reports and educational correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from administration, academician s, students, and the community at large.
Reasoning Ability - Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
Computer Ability - Must have excellent computer skills, ability to utilize standard software packages (eg Microsoft Office) and ability to quickly learn software systems utilized by the School of Medicine for curricular delivery, assessment and review.

Required Qualifications
