Performs specialized work in the planning, conducting and/or supervising of original research at TTUHSC. Responsible for participating in, planning, scheduling and/or supervising research projects and the interpretation of the results for publication. Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based on accomplishment of assigned objectives and overall effectiveness of project. May supervise research and student assistants.
Supervises and assures all research staff maintain a high quality of standards and perform proper job functions
Assess staffing needs for projects and hire and train research staff
Assist Investigators with research project development including preparation of human subjects applications and renewals
Development of research materials, study protocols and procedures and assist with grant and budget development
Manage primary data collection, develop study related databases assist with statistical analysis
Collect and maintain all study related documents and information for regulatory purposes
Coordinate and supervise grant proposal preparation (rules and procedures) and implementation of ongoing projects
Assist with post award management including budget monitoring and preparation of progress reports
Assistance with writing and editing of grant proposals and manuscripts
Maintain ethics and compliance standards including the completion of CITI training and the protection of human subjects
Performs additional duties assigned by supervisor within the scope of position, following TTUHSC policies and procedures, in order to meet the goals and objectives of the department
Master's degree or specialized academic training beyond the Bachelor's level in a particular field of science or engineering equivalent to a Master's degree
One year research experience
Knowledge of modern research practices, the methods, resources, and standards thereof

Must possess excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills, be a team player, display flexibility, detail oriented, and be reliable and punctual
The ability to effectively present information, respond to questions, from patients and the general public with strong written and oral communication skills is required
Knowledge of data organization and analysis software for storing, analyzing, and reporting qualitative and quantitative data
Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative environment, and coordinate with colleagues at varying organizational levels
Demonstrated ability to supervise team members
Good organizations, communication and supervisory skills
Prefer bilingual speaker (English/Spanish)
Experience in social, behavioral, medical, or health services research preferred
