Major/Essential Functions
Assist Executive Director of Business Affairs with financial and administration activities and operations on the compilation of annual operating budget procedures for the department of Business Affairs.
Assist Executive Director of Business Affairs and CFO with special projects.
Enforce accounting policies, budget control, and ensures funds are available for expenses.
Approve purchasing transactions submitted by Business Affairs. Review source documents for proper authorization and compliance procedures.
Provide assistance to department administrators and staff in matters as they relate to the budget process or accounting policy and procedure.

Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with experience in higher education are strongly preferred. Experience with (accounting, budget, human resources, and procurement), Sungard Banner, and Cognos are also preferred qualifications.

Pay Statement
Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as, the institutional pay plan. For additional information, please reference the institutional pay plan on the Human Resources webpage.

Occasional Duties
Assist with staff matters, including employee records and hiring process.
Coordinate and prepare procedure/ desk manuals for different divisions in Business Affairs. Maintain and provide back up for trainings when requested.
Review procurement card usage and transactions for the department of Business Affairs to comply in accordance with policies and procedures.
Ensure compliance with fund purposes and/or restrictions, reconcile ledger transactions to departmental transactions for Business Affairs funds managed.
Other duties within the department as assigned, including new fund requests, cost transfers, purchase requisitions and department events.
Prepare and update department's mission, goals, objectives and measures, SACS, and LCME accreditation documentation.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree required and five years administrative or management experience. Additional education may substitute for experience on a year for year basis.
