Position Description
Performs varied and complex administrative duties in the management and coordination of a large specialized project and/or program. Major/Essential Functions
Manages institution-wide processes to meet reporting requirements set forth by professional, state, regional, and federal entities which regulate delivery of higher education programs.
Prepares high-quality, professional and accurate reports, and ensures timely submission of reports to internal and external entities at the institutional, state, regional/federal level, and to professional organizations.
Assist the Director of the Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness in the ongoing design and implementation of institution-wide processes in order to assure compliance with state and federal reporting standards and related compliance requirements, and to support institutional research studies for ongoing improvement of institutional practices.
Manages inter-office and intra-office processes, ensuring systematic and integrated procedures for collecting, storing, sharing, and managing institutional data, and to ensure centralization of institutional data in the Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness.
Employs working knowledge of institutional research practices and social science/education research methods, including research design, data collection, and statistical analysis of results to ensure accurate and effective analysis and reporting of institutional data in order to meet internal/external data needs and reporting requirements.
Assures compliance with external agency policies, institutional reporting requirements and deadlines.  Monitors adherence to timelines for internal/external reporting requirements, to include reporting monitoring guidelines set forth by external regulating agencies, such as the TX Higher Education Coordinating Board (i.e.THECB CBM Reports) and the Department of Education (i.e. IPEDS)
Utilizes large-scale, institutional databases and/or data management systems for ongoing collection, storage, and analysis of institution-wide data (i.e. Banner).
Provides logistical management and effectively organizes regular meetings of institutional groups and committees, as related to Institutional Research (IR) processes and projects.
Develops presentations for regular meetings, workshops and trainings, utilizing presentation software.
Assists the Director in the design of institutional/higher education research studies; determines and applies appropriate statistical analyses to quantitative and qualitative data, and uses statistical software applications (i.e. SAS, SPSS) in order to answer research and evaluation questions related to institutional processes and outcomes.
Generates statistical, narrative, and graphical reports to communicate research findings and to meet state, regional and national reporting requirements, including accreditation standards for all health science center schools
Travels to regional/national meetings and/or workshops, and presents institutional research practices to a variety of audiences on an as needed basis.
Supervises office staff as assigned and represents the Director during times of absence.
Performs other related functions as assigned by the Director of OIRE.

-Master's degree in educational administration, higher education, public administration, business admin/management, public health, health sciences, social/behavioral science, or a related field is required.
-Knowledge and/or previous experience with educational program development and institutional research practices.
-Demonstrated skills in leadership, management, and consensus building.
-Must be able to write effectively with minimal errors with attention to detail organizational skills while balancing multiple tasks
-Must establish positive working relationships with administrators, faculty, and staff and maintain high standards of professionalism.

administration/management, public health, health sciences, social/behavioral science, or a related field is preferred.
-Experience with institutional research practices at an institution of higher education. -Experience with institutional
reporting requirements and procedures.

Required Qualifications
